Richard “Dick” Pullen, a native of Sandy for more than 70 years, died on September 30th in Gresham, Ore. He was 77.
Mr. Pullen served in the United States Military overseas in Germany in the army branch for four years before returning to his hometown Sandy. After leaving the military, Mr. Pullen began working at Case Power and Equipment and later became the parts manager.
In November of 1960, Mr. Pullen married Joanne Moore and had their first son in September of 1961. Mr. and Mrs. Pullen gave birth to their second son in February 1963 and completed their family in January of 1966 with the birth of their only daughter.
Richard “Dick” Pullen was born in Gresham, Ore. on May 12, 1934 to his father, Byron Pullen, and to his mother, the former Mable Gunther.
He is survived by his two sisters Janice McDermit and Connie Moore; sons Larry and Richard Pullen; daughter Sherry Ten Eyck; Grandchildren Sabrina Schneider, Lauren Pullen, Tracie Pullen, Mandy Ten Eyck, Nicole Pullen, Kevin Ten Eyck, Nick Sameulsen, and Marc Garner.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Sandy Funeral Home on Friday, October 7th at 12:00 p.m. A private burial will follow at Douglas Pioneer Cemetery in Troutdale.
The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Sandy Kiwanis Club.
