Obituary

Ronald Gene Breunig Sr. of Sandy, Oregon was born on March 22nd, 1944 in Longview, Washington.  He was the son of Norbert and Hazel Breunig.  Ron passed away at his home on January 24th 2019. Ron wore many hats in his family. He was affectionally known as Pops, papa, papa Ron and grandpa. He was the 4th born out of nine children.  Ron had 4 brothers and 4 sisters (Sonny, Lowell, Bob, Carole, Mary, Gail, Rick, Karen). Ron lived in the Portland/Gresham area for most of his years. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1962. Ron was married to his first wife, Barbie Conner, from 1964 to 1985. Barbie and Ron had two sons, Jeff and Ronald Jr. He worked at Miller Paint for 36 years. Throughout those 36 years, He drove a truck and worked in a warehouse for Miller Paint. Later in life, Ron hauled cars all over the United States for the NASCAR Camping World Series. He met his second wife, Barbara Fleischman in 1985. For many years, Ron and Barbara enjoyed their crazy adventures together. Ron finally convinced Barbara to marry him in 1992, they were married in Condon OR,  on a hunting trip.  Ron and Barbara moved to Eastern Oregon for 8 years where he ranched, remodeled homes and ran heavy equipment. Ron loved living there, the times he cherished most of all was when his kids and grandchildren came to visit. Barbara and Ron later moved back to Sandy where they enjoyed their retirement by traveling the United States in their motorhome. Ron was an avid outdoorsmen, he loved hunting, dirt bikes, fishing, water skiing and camping. But most of all he loved doing anything that involved his huge family. Ron was a gifted wood worker, he built all kinds of things, from homes to Christmas ornaments and everything in between. Ron was the head of a ever growing family, or better known as The Brady Bunch, and the man everyone went to for advice. He always made time for everyone, his door was always open. Ron was the best hugger around; he always made your day by giving you a hug. He is survived by his wife Barbara and his two sons, Jeff and his wife Denise, Ronald Jr and his wife Larecia, his step daughters Michelle Way and her husband Kevin and Nanette Blake and her husband Clay Blake. He leaves behind 17 grandchildren (Nick, Zach, Tiffany, Kevin, Brian, Adam, Sarah, Renee, Taylor, Megan, Lyndsay, Karli, Justin, Lukas, Bryan, Alissa, Michael and Jacob) and 13 great grandchildren (Tanner, Rylee, Laramie, Kimber, Brantley, Alexis, Blake, Wyatt, Presley, Jade, Olivia, Logan, and Dakota). He is loved by so many people and he loved everyone too. Ron’s family will be having a celebration of life on  Saturday, February 16th 2019, between 11:30 -4:30. It will be held at 34777 SE Gunderson Rd Sandy. Friends and Family are welcome to join in. It will be a potluck, please bring a side dish, and BYOB.
