Boring resident, Rose Baldridge died at home on Thursday, April 16, 2009 with loved ones by her side. She was 85.
A Memorial service will be held at Sandy Funeral Home on Friday, May 1st at 3:00 p.m. followed by private inurnment at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
Rose Alice Baldridge was born on June 22, 1923 in Kansas City, Kansas to John and Mamie Ambrose. She grew up in Kansas and Missouri during her early years. After finishing her education, Rose worked as a dietician at the University of Kansas Hospital and later was a foreman in a glider factory for the war effort.
Rose married Francis Baldridge in 1943 in Kansas City. She had 10 children, 9 born in Kansas and one in California, which include sons; John of Port Townsend, Washington; Donald of Newark, California; Bill of Seattle, Washington; Clifford of Milwaukie, Oregon and Robert of Portland, Oregon. Daughters include Frances Taylor of Boring; Rose Mary Keene of Snohomish, Washington and Theresa Baldridge of Woodland, Washington. Rose was preceded in death by her son Brian, her daughter Reva, one sister, 4 brothers and one grandson.
Rose lived in Washington with her family before moving to Oregon and managed apartments with her husband for 14 years before retiring. After her husband passed away, Rose moved to Boring to share a home with her daughter Frances and son-in-law Ray.
She enjoyed doing crafts with her PACE class at the Sandy Senior Center, gardening, shopping and playing Bunco with the girls. Her greatest joy was her children and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
