Obituary

Sandy resident Ruby Watts passed away at home on August 20, 2022, where she resided for 58 years. She was 94 years old.

Ruby Geneva Watts was born to Fred and Annie Jones in Wilsonville, Oklahoma on April 29, 1928. She lived between Oklahoma and Texas until she was 17. Ruby’s family moved to Safford, Arizona in 1945.

On June 6, 1947, she married Lawrence G. Watts. In 1948, her only child Linda G. Watts was born. They moved to Sandy in 1964 where they made their living farming raspberries and strawberries.

Ruby was a long-time member of the Sandy VFW Auxiliary. She spent many hours volunteering and loved quilting. She especially enjoyed spending time with all her grandchildren and gardening and fishing.

She is survived by her siblings; sister, Evelyn Long of Buckeye, Arizona, sister, Florence Capes of Gresham, Oregon, sister Bertha Hinchcliff of Gresham, Oregon, brother Arvel Jones of Phoenix, Arizona, brother Jerrel Jones of Phoenix, Arizona;  daughter, Linda Terrill (Donald) of Sandy, grandchildren, Donnie Burns (Shawn) of Sandy, Loren Terrill (Crissy) of Boring, Great grandchildren, Ashley Terrill (Tyler), Mathias Terrill (Tiffany), Jennifer Burns and Mattie Burns;  Great great Granddaughter, Charlotte Madison. 

She is preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Watts, sister, Delcie Powell, brother Lloyd Jones and brother, Kenneth Jones.

A funeral service will be held at Sandy Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 30th at 11:00am.  A graveside service will follow at Cliffside Cemetery.  Contributions can be made to Mt. Hood Hospice.
