Boring resident, Ruth M. Robertson died Sunday, November 8, 2009 at a Clackamas Hospital. She was 79.
A public visitation will be held Thursday from 5pm-7pm at Sandy Funeral Home. A Funeral service will be in Spanish Fork, Utah. Burial will follow at Payson City Cemetery in Payson, Utah.
Ruth Marie Fraser was born December 23, 1929 in Payson, Utah to Duncan and Ruth (Kerr) Fraser. After the passing of her mother and father, she was raised by her Aunt and Uncle Margaret and Joe Perry, together with their three sons, Rex, Sam and Dale. She was graduated from Payson High School and later married Benjamin B. Riches. They had three children Gary, Linda and Dennis. After they divorced she later married the late Eldon Christensen they had one daughter Carolyn. Following their divorced she went to Utah Technical College, where she received a degree in nursing. Ruth married the late Ronald Spencer, following their divorce, she moved to Provo, Utah. While living in Utah, she worked for Payson and Utah Valley Hospitals. Ruth moved to Salem Oregon in 1974 where she worked for Salem Hospital. She moved to Boring in 1975 and began working for Kaiser Sunnyside Medical Center. On April 23, 1981 she married the late Daniel Robertson in Cannon Beach. They made their home in Boring. She retired from Kaiser in 1992. In 2007, Daniel preceded her in death.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She enjoyed weaving rugs and had her own business called Spinning Web Weavery. She enjoyed all kinds of arts and crafts. She had a lot of energy and was very young at heart.
Survivors include her sons, Gary Riches of Spanish Fork, Utah, Dennis Riches of Ridgefield, Washington; daughters, Linda Greiner of Salem, Oregon, Carolyn Hunter of Milwaukie, Oregon; stepsons James and Daniel Robertson both of Gresham; 16 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
