Sandra Joy (Hope) Niete, age 70, of Sandy, Oregon passed away peacefully on April 16th, 2022, with her loving husband, Will Niete, by her side. Sandra grew up in Portland, Oregon and attended Madison High School, but later moved to Medford and Phoenix, Oregon as well as Vancouver, Washington. Sandy and Will were married for 44 years and established their home in Sandy, Oregon. Sandy was not only the best mother to two wonderful sons, but was also a loving wife, sister, aunt, cousin, daughter, friend, and most importantly, the best Nana ever.
Sandy dedicated 21 years of her life working for Interstate Bank/Wells Fargo before diving into the world of real estate. Sandy also was very involved with her swim group and enjoyed every minute she spent with her friends who also turned into an extension of our family. Sandy’s true passion was being with family and togetherness. Between camping trips and adventures to visit her sons who lived out of state, Sandy kept busy and was remarkably close with all she loved. Family vacations were packed with memories that we will all hold onto forever.
Sandy was preceded in death by her father, John Edgar Hope, her mother, Marjorie Mae Brown, and her younger brother, Thomas Hope. She is survived by her best friend and loving husband, Will Niete, her sons Kurtis Bravo (Rebecca) and Jacob Niete (Liz), her loving sister Lynn (Jay) Papez, loving sister Vicky (Art) Johnson, and four wonderful grandchildren: Riley, Lucy, Hannah, and Chase. Sandy is also survived by her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lydia and Rick Gantenbein, and several nieces and nephews she always held close to her heart including: Monica (Jeremy) Boyer, Jamie (Nick) Kraljev, Lisa (Richard) Culley, and Christina (Aaron) Reichert, Andy Gantenbein, and Madison (Ian) Eckendorf. The list could go on as there are so many dear and devoted friends of Sandy’s that will help keep her memory alive.
Sandy requested a celebration of life be held in her honor as opposed to traditional funeral services. This wish will be fulfilled on July 23rd at 2:00 pm with many of her friends and family gathered. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Legacy Hospice, in memory of Sandra J. Niete for continued cancer research, by sending a check to PO Box 4484, Portland, OR 97208.
