Longtime Gresham resident, Sheryl Burns died in Portland on February 10, 2016. Private services were held at Lincoln Memorial Park.
Sheryl Dee Burns was born in Kelso, Washington on June 23, 1941 to Ian and Crystal Burns. She lived in Kelso as a child until her family moved to Boring, Oregon when she was 5. She attended Boring Grade School and graduated from Sandy High School in 1959.
After high school, Sheryl enlisted in the U.S. Army until an honorable discharge in 1961. She moved to Gresham where she became a certified nursing assistant at Rest Harbor Rehab Care Center for the rest of her career.
Sheryl enjoyed knitting, crocheting and word puzzles. She was a member of Pleasant Home Methodist Church.
She is survived by; brother and sister-in-law, Rawley and Carol Burns of Gresham; nieces, Shelly Giusto-Burns of Sandy and Melanie Burns of Troutdale; 4 great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Comfort Hospice or Mt. Hood Hospice.
