Sandy resident, Shirley Lubrecht died at Avamere at Sandy on Saturday, April 23, 2011. She was 78.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, May 6, at Avamere at Sandy.
She was born Shirley Irene Randle in Swatara, Minnesota on July 25, 1932 to Albert and Sarah Randle. Shirley was raised in Minnesota where she graduated from Hill City High School.
On August 25, 1952, she was married to Harold Lubrecht in Hill City, Minnesota. They moved to Oregon in 1952 and made their home in the Rockwood area. In 1957, Shirley and Harold purchased property in Boring and moved there one year later.
Shirley was a homemaker but was employed as a secretary at the University of Minnesota prior to moving to Oregon. She enjoyed baking, gardening, playing games and working puzzles. She served on the voter’s board and was on the Volunteer’s Guild and served as President, at Mt. Hood Medical Center. Her husband preceded her in death in December of 2008.
Surviving are her sons, Jerry Lubrecht of Sandy and Michael Lubrecht of Duvall, Washington; 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
