In Loving Memory Of

Stephanie Ann Cross-Denton

December 16th, 1944 - November 24th, 2010

Obituary

Former Seaside resident, Stephanie A. Denton, died from complications of COPD on November 23, 2010 at her home in Welches, OR. She was 65.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

She was born Stephanie Anne Bendix to famous actor William Bendix of “The Life of Riley” and Theresa (Stefanotti) Bendix on December 16, 1944 in Los Angeles, CA during the “golden years” of Hollywood.

Stephanie made her home in Big Sur, CA, Sedona, AZ and the coastal towns of Cannon Beach, Long Beach and Seaside. She recently retired to Welches, OR to be closer to her family. Stephanie absolutely loved working in the hospitality business for over 25 years at The Breakers, Best Western Ocean View Resort and Tolovana Inn.

She was an avid reader, a wonderful cook and a crossword puzzle/trivia wiz.

Stephanie is survived by her children, Loni Stambaugh (Kelly Scott) of Brightwood, OR and Scott Denton (Elizabeth) of Battleground, WA; grandchildren Andy and Kelsey Denton of Battleground; and best friend Denice Hayes of Warrenton, OR.

Sandy Funeral Home is in care of arrangements.

TO THE BENDIX FAMILY... SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS. JUST CAME ACROSS THE DEATH OF STEPHANIE TODAY. AS A FAN OF YOUR DAD, STEPHANIE, IT WAS NICE TO HEAR FROM YOUR FRIEND WHO WROTE IN HER MESSAGE, WHAT A FINE MAN YOUR DAD WAS. ALSO, WITH HOLLYWOOD THE WAY IT IS, THAT HE STAYED MARRIED, TILL HIS DEATH, TO YOUR MOM.THAT SPEAKS VOLUMES! ART PHILLIPS
Steph and I were best friends at Sequoia jr high and Reseda High. We aware always together at one or the others house! Her parents were great people. Stephanie was a treasure. We moved to Ontario and my mother passed in 1961. We lost touch after that. If anyone wants to know , we had lots of teen girl adventures. Innocent fun I will never forget! Gloria Wallace Danley
To Alana Sharon.....I only just read of your mother’s passing. I lost contact with her in the late ‘90’s. We were best friends all through junior high and high school. When she married Richard Platt and had you, she named you after me. My name is Sharon and I loved you. Then you went to live with Lorraine in AZ. And I never saw you again. I would love to hear from you, and know how you’re doing. My e-mail is included. Sharon Ann Culbertson
I worked under Stephanie at the Best Western and learned so much from here. Loved hearing get life stories. And yes she did live her crossword puzzles. Tiffany
I went to Reseda High with Stephanie but moved to Ontario, Ca. when my Mother remarried. Stephanie and I were great friends and we stayed at each others homes constantly. Her Dad would wake us in the morning by letting the dogs jump on the bed. He was a wonderful man. I tried to find Stephanie several times over the years to no avail. When we moved I lost my best friend. I have so many happy memories of her and the Bendix family. God has her now. Gloria J. Danley (Wallace)
