Damascus resident, Stephen “Steve” Consla died suddenly at his home on Wednesday, August 13, 2014. He was 54. A Celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Sunnyside Community Church in Damascus.
Steve Ray Consla was born on June 4, 1960 in Los Angeles, California to Robert and Alice Consla. Growing up, Steve lived in Sun Valley outside of Burbank, CA until he was 12. He spent time between parents in California and Oregon before staying with his mother in Newport, OR to graduate from Newport High School. He then attended Mt. Hood Community College in Gresham where he studied computer science.
While in school at Newport, Steve worked at Abby’s Pizza and after graduating he worked at Embarcadero Resort as a sous chef. After moving to the Portland area and working at MacKenzie Grill in Gresham he met his wife, Karyn Courtain. They married in Reno, NV on Oct. 10, 1991. After the birth of their first child, Steve became a stay at home father and they moved to Damascus in 2004.
Steve loved taking care of his family and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. He enjoyed science fiction and fantasy novels and movies and playing World of Warcraft.
Survivors include; wife, Karyn Consla of Damascus; his children, Christopher and Jessica Consla; brothers, Rick Consla of Gresham and Robert Shawn Consla of Crystal Falls, MI.
