Former Gresham resident, Susan McBane died on Friday, November 8, 2013 at the age of 90.
She was born, Susan Cora Waldhoff on December 4, 1922 in Sunrise, Minnesota. She was raised in Sunrise and received her elementary and high school education in a one room school house.
On October 20, 1943 she entered the U.S. Navy. While enlisted, she met and later married Marvin “Bud” McBane. After her honorable discharge on March 6, 1946, she traveled with her husband while he continued his Military Service. They settle in Montana for a time and were later divorced.
Susan and her 5 children moved to Washington where she pursued her career as a secretary for the Government, holding several positions with different agencies.
After retirement, Susan moved to Gresham where she made her permanent home.
Susan was an avid reader and took pride in raising her five children, educating herself and achieving goals.
Surviving are her children, Ronald, James, Bonnie and Darrel; 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her daughter Twila.
