Lifelong Sandy resident, Susan Marie Cook, born Susan Marie Pullen, passed away unexpectedly at her home on November 9, 2018. She was 57 years old.
Susan grew up in Sandy and attended Sandy Grade School as well as Sandy High School, and graduated from Taft High School in 1979. She married Craig Cook in 1980. They made their home in Sandy. Their son Alex was born in 1986.
Susan really enjoyed playing slow pitch softball and later coached a young girls’ team. She worked for Clackamas County Bank and alter spent almost 20 years as Office Manager for Neptune Pools.
Susan and Craig enjoyed traveling and went to Hawaii many times. They also cruised the Caribbean and the inland waterway to Alaska.
Susan was extremely active as a fundraiser for the Sandy High Music Foundation. She worked tirelessly to collect auction items while still working full time. After retiring, Susan performed the same volunteer activity for the Sandy Grange, of which she was a member. She loved playing bingo at the Grange, reading romance novels, and working on Sudoku puzzles.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Craig; her loving son Alex; sisters Diane Beckoff and Cheryl Leriche (Armand), and of course, her beloved dog Annie. Susan was preceded in death in 2013 by her brother Mike.
