Boring resident Susan Perkins died at her home in Boring on January 15, 2010 surrounded by her family and friends. She was 49.
A Memorial Service will be held in the chapel of Sandy Funeral Home Thursday, January 28, 2010 at 3 p.m.
Susan Marie was born in Sandy to Robert Jennings and Anna Dyer (Vernan) Winchester on August 6, 1960. She spent her childhood in Sandy attending Bull Run Grade School and then later in her teen years moved to Anchorage Alaska where she finished her schooling and graduated high school. After graduation she moved to Yakima, Washington where she worked in the restaurant business eventually becoming a manager.
Sue moved back to Sandy where she continued in the restaurant industry working at Toni’s Restaurant and Paola’s Corner. She also worked at the Oregon Candy Farm making chocolates until it closed.
She met Allen Perkins at Toni’s Restaurant and they were married in 1996 at Toni’s. They made their home in Boring where Susan bred and raised pug dogs.
Sue was very artistic and enjoyed doing mosaics, creating planter and garden art as well as beading. She had a deep love for children.
Susan is survived by her husband Allen; sisters Linda Poling of Dallas, OR and Virginia Dyess of Slidell, LA; brothers, Robert J. Winchester Jr. of Phoenix, AZ, John A. Winchester of CA, Raymond S. Winchester of Sandy, James C. Winchester of Dallas, OR. She was preceded in death by her son, Tyler Marcus Winchester and her brother Dale Winchester. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
