Former Sandy & Eagle Creek resident Susie Weatherred, died at her daughters home in Coburg, Oregon on July 26, 2011. She was 92.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, on Tuesday, August 2, at Sandy Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Scandinavian Cemetery in Sandy.
She was born Otha Nancy Worley in Hooker, Oklahoma to Martin Luther and Easter Elizabeth (Willis) Worley on July 24, 1919. She was raised and received her education in Colorado and later moved to Texas.
On July 30, 1938, she married Thomas Houston Weatherred in Clovis, New Mexico. They lived in various States where she devoted her time as a homemaker and raising her family. In 1954, they settled in California until 1975, when moving to Oregon to live in Eagle Creek.
After her husband’s death in 1987, Susie moved to Sandy where she lived until 2010 when moving to Coburg.
Susie enjoyed traveling in the R-V, visiting family in Texas and spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are her daughters, Margaret Carpenter and Linda Senn both of Sandy and Nancy Mackey of Coburg; son, Thomas Weatherred of California; 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her grandson Jimmy Carpenter in 1973.
