Suzanne Lois Garrison, 73, died on February 11, 2010 at her home in Brightwood.
She was born, Suzanne Lois Schneider on October 2, 1936 in Madison, Wisconsin to Stephen and Hazel (Cormier) Schneider. Sue graduated from Marquette University in 1959 and taught school in Wisconsin and California. She moved to San Francisco, California in 1961 and in 1965 married Jack Garrison. They lived in the Monterey Bay area until building their home and moving to Brightwood in 1994.
Sue had a zest for life and was passionate about being with family. She was active in the Red Hat Society and the Hoodland Women’s Club. She also loved getting together weekly with her friends for line dancing. Her interests were traveling, knitting and growing flowers in her garden.
Surviving is her husband Jack Garrison of Brightwood; her brother, Steve Schneider of Greendale, Wisconsin; step children, Scott Garrison of Raleigh, North Carolina and Melissa Garrison of Brightwood; her granddaughters, Rachel and Juline Garrison and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Sue’s life will be held on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the Mt. Hood RV Resort in the Evergreen Room.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Mt. Hood Hospice or The Salvation Army.
