Thomas Carl Simpson, 61, died Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at the Marquis Autumn Hills assisted living residence after a long battle with Huntington’s disease.
Born in the Portland area, Thomas moved to Sandy during his early childhood after his father, a pilot, died in a plane crash in Alaska. Thomas graduated from Sandy High School and worked as a laborer at Reynolds Metals in Troutdale for many years.
Thomas enjoyed restoring old cars, camping, fishing and coaching baseball.
Thomas is survived by his two sons, Thomas R. Simpson and Robert D. Simpson, and six grandchildren, Isaak, Thomas, Cataluna, Haalen, Keiler and Mahri.
Viewing will be from 1-2 pm on Monday, July 8, with a memorial service at 2 pm at the Sandy Funeral Home in Sandy, Oregon.
