Longtime Boring resident Thomas McKay died at his home on Wednesday January 6, 2010. He was 71.
A Funeral Service will be held Thursday January 14, 2010 at 1:00PM in the chapel at Sandy Funeral Home. Viewing will start at 12 noon Thursday prior to the service.
He was born Thomas Warren McKay on January 29, 1938 to John Charles and Roberta (Munger) McKay in Portland. He grew up in the Gateway area of Portland where he received his education. Tom graduated from David Douglas High School in 1957. After graduation he started what would become a 35 year career in the Printing industry. He retired as a Pressman.
Tom was married to Saidee Bailey in 1960 and they moved to Boring in 1972.
Tom joined the Boring Fire Department as a volunteer July 26, 1976. He enjoyed being at the station with the “guys” and serving his community over the years. He also loved camping and outdoor sports.
He is survived by his wife Saidee; his daughter Roberta Dee Allen and son-in-law Dan of Gresham; brothers, Jack McKay of Gresham and Lee McKay of Portland, and one grandson, Brandon of Gresham. He is predeceased by his sister Margaret.
