In Loving Memory Of

Timothy James Werner

February 29th, 1972 - May 28th, 2022

Obituary

Tim Werner went home to be with the Lord on May 28, 2022.  He was born to Don and Judie Werner in Milwaukie, OR., February 29, 1972.  He graduated from Clackamas High School in 1990.

Tim attended Whitworth College where he earned a Bachelors of Art degree in 1994.  He went on to become a Social Studies teacher and coach in Sweet Home, OR.  He finally moved back to the Portland area in 1998 and landed a teaching position at Sandy High School in Sandy, OR.  While teaching at Sandy High School he earned his Masters of Science and School Administration license from Portland State University.   While working for the Oregon Trail School District, Tim was a teacher, a basketball coach, a TOSA Vice Principal, a Vice Principal, and Principal.

In his last several years working for the district he became the Director of Teaching and Learning at the District Office for Oregon Trail School District.

Tim and his beloved wife Carrie would have celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary this August.  They have been blessed by having two children, Ella and Andrew.  As a family they loved going on adventures, playing sports together, and just being a loving family together.    They were rarely separated from each other because they felt that their children should be able to see the world and experience the richness as a family.

Tim is survived by his wife, Carrie; daughter Ella and son Andrew.  Mother, Judie Werner and siblings, Beth (Don) Schaefer, Kristi (Bob) Barnes, Kurt (Jean) Werner, and Skip Werner.  Tim also is survived by 9 nieces and nephews and 3 great-nieces and nephew.

Tim will be remembered for his faithfulness to our Lord.  His devotion to serving others and his community.  He will also be remembered for his wonderful wit and sense of humor, the calmness that he exuded, his steadfast loyalty and logical mind.  And lastly, the gift of being an amazing husband and loving father.  That gift and foundation will remain with his family forever.   Tim and family attended Good Shepherd Community Church.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 4 p.m., on Sunday, June 26th in the gym of Sandy High School.   37400 Bell St., Sandy, OR 97055

Donations can be made to the family through gofund.me, The Werner Family organized by Shara Nagel.

Tim was an exceptional person, had not spent much time around him after leaving highschool, and a couple run ins up in Spokane during college. Last time I saw him, I had stopped for lunch up in Sandy. It was as if we had just seen each other last week. He was the same kind, calm mannered person I remember from the past. I am not shocked to see the impact he had on so many. He definitely did God’s work with the time he had here, a lesson to all. Love you brother, to be continued….Nick Nick Tacheny
I am very sorry to hear of Tim's passing. We grew up together through high school and he was always so thoughtful and kind. He is one of the few I remember well from that time in life. My thoughts are with his entire family. Taken way too soon. Jen Jen Parr
Tim, you were a dear friend in college, our group was always fun to hang with and do stuff with. You and Robb always made us laugh. Gone far too soon. Prayer for your wife and children. Becky Pool Valentine
