In Loving Memory Of

Tommy Lee Sindt

March 16th, 1949 - January 13th, 2011

Obituary

Sandy resident, Tommy Sindt died at his daughters’ home on Thursday, January 13, 2011. He was 61.

Tommy Lee Sindt was born on March 16, 1949 to Donald and Joy (Post) Sindt in Holdrege, Nebraska. As a child, the family moved to Pomona , California where he was raised and received his education. After graduating from high school, he married Lorelie Bartlow in 1967. In 1969, the family moved to Oregon and made their home in Beaverton. They were divorced in 1992. Tom worked for Freightliner Corporation from 1972 until 1995 when he left and went into the hardwood flooring business with his two sons.

Known as “The Legend” to his many golfing buddies, Tom was always up for playing a round and was famous for his practical jokes. Tom would want you all to play a round for him and have a drink at his table at “The Corner”.

His daughter would like to thank the wonderful staff and volunteers at Mt. Hood Hospice for all of their help and support. She would also like to thank all of Tom’s friends who called, visited and sent cards to Tom during his illness. It meant a lot to both of them.

Tom is survived by his sons, Jerry Sindt of Portland, Jason Sindt of Beaverton, his daughter, Karen Repko of Sandy, his brother, Ron Sindt of Nebraska, and four grandsons, Thomas, Ryan, Jake and Cole. He was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Joy Sindt and his youngest brother Danny Sindt.

Services to be held at a later date in Nebraska.

I went to Grade school with Tom before he moved to Pomona Ca. He was a heck of a home run hitter in little league in Kearney. I think he played for the Eagles, yellow uniforms. Tom was a warm caring true friend and I was not happy when he moved to California. If anyone that knew Tom wants to share e- mail me or call me 541-450-5435. Gregg Kenyon

I'm so glad I had the opportunity (with friends) to sit down and talk to Tom last fall. The man will not be forgotten. He left a memory deep and wide in most of us. I guess that's all anyone can ask for. I'll miss him and his humor. He always made me laugh! Bye Tom. Michael Smith
My sympathies to the Sindt family. I knew Tom when we both worked for Freightliner and golfed with him when he was a member of Rock Creek Country Club. His presence, dry wit and golf prowess truly made him a legend. Gary Garr
