Vivian Claudean (Millhollin) Gokey was born in Venita, Oklahoma to Jasper and Louise (Daughtery) Millhollin on April 19, 1921. She was raised in Oklahoma where she attended Wyandotte Indian School.
Vivian and Frank Gokey married on September 9, 1950 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. In 1952 they loaded their 1931 Model A and moved to Oregon. In 1961 they settled in Sandy were they remained for many years. Vivian canned for her family, was a good seamstress and her baking and cooking skills were outstanding. You never left her home hungry.
She enjoyed cooking, quilting, gardening and flowers. One of her final statements was, “I want to live to be 100 so I can keep cooking and playing games with family and friends.”
Survivors include; husband Frank Gokey; children Loretta Cansler, Franklin, Floyd and Douglas Gokey and Robin Timblin; 4 siblings, 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She will be greatly missed.
