Sandy resident Vivian Bighaus died suddenly at her home on Christmas Day, 2009 at the age of 66.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday January 16, 2010 at the Sandy Seventh-Day Adventist Church at 4:00 PM.
She was born Vivian Fay Bighaus on October 10, 1943 in Minot, North Dakota to Alvin and Elma (Metz) Dietrich.
She was raised in Coeur D’ Alene, Idaho and graduated from Upper Columbia Academy in 1962. She attended Walla Walla College where she received her Nursing Degree in 1966. She was married to Phillip Bighaus in 1965 and they moved in Scappoose where they started their family. The family moved to Sandy in 1975. Vivian worked as a Nurse Practitioner at Kaiser Permanente Women’s Healthcare retiring in 2002.
She was well known in her community and church family as a kind and generous person. She enjoyed quilting and shared her beautiful hand sewn quilts with many loved ones. She also taught quilting class. Vivian loved to travel with her husband Phillip and they explored many places together.
Vivian is survived by her loving husband Phillip; sons, Don (Rhonda) of Gresham and Michael of Sandy; and 3 grandchildren.
