Longtime Sandy resident, Wayne Cansler passed away at his home on Wednesday, March 21, 2018. He was 85.
Wayne Frederick Cansler was born on October 9, 1932 in Kansas City, Kansas. He began his elementary education in Kansas. At the age of 13, the family moved to Sandy where he finished his schooling. After high school, he began his lifelong career with Reynolds Aluminum. He retired as General Foreman after serving 32 years.
On August 12, 1950, he was united in marriage to Jeannine Cyphers in Stevenson, Washington. They made their home in Sandy where Wayne farmed berries and nursery stock after retiring.
Wayne enjoyed farming, hunting, fishing, camping, spending time at their home in Pine Hollow, traveling in their R.V. and dancing. He was a member of the Masonic Temple for 50 years.
Surviving is his wife Jeanine of 67 years; his daughters, Linnea Pullen; his son, Terry and wife Marcella Cansler; his brothers, Art, Clyde and Tom Cansler; his sister, Joy Mason; 2 granddaughters, 3 great grandsons and 1 great granddaughter.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest contributions be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Doernbecher Children’s Hospital.
