Wayne Fuller, 70, passed away on November 19th at his home in Sandy, Oregon. He was born in Portland, Oregon to Vinton and Jean Fuller. Wayne grew up in Portland. He graduated from Madison High School in 1965, where he played football and ran track. He set several school and state records, and carried an Olympic-style torch his Junior year in support of the Olympic games. After high school, Wayne served in the U.S. Army in Alaska as a bus driver, and a truck driver transporting Agent Orange in Vietnam.
Throughout his career, Wayne worked at several distribution and transportation companies including Gresham Transfer, Manchesters and Mount Hood Beverage in Portland. He maintained a flawless driving record, and was named driver of the year while working for First Transit at the Portland International Airport. Wayne loved the great outdoors. He was a certified scuba diver, enjoyed fishing, camping, and rafting down the Sandy River. He was also a member of the Elks Club, was on a bowling league, was an avid NASCAR fan and valued spending time with his daughters, grandchildren, and family. Those who knew him personally will remember him for his kindness and generosity. Wayne is survived by his daughters, Darlene Runyon of Gainesville, Florida and Teresa Sullivan of Sandy, Oregon, brother John Fuller of Uma, Arizona, sister Diane Colligan of Medford, Oregon, five grandchildren, and extended family. A viewing will be on Thursday, December 1st at the Sandy Funeral Home from 4:00-7:00PM, and funeral service will be held at the Willamette National Cemetery on Friday, December 2nd at 2:00PM. Following will be a celebration of life (kegger per Dad's wishes) at the Gresham Elks lodge located at 3330 NE Division St, Gresham, OR 97030 from 3:00-6:00PM
